TURVILLE'S TOUCHSTONE was a brand new strip that appeared in the newly merged LION & EAGLE way back in 1969. It centered on young TOM TURVILLE who has just inherited TURVILLE HALL. However what he doesn't know is that an Ancestor of his , the Alchemist SYLVESTER TURVILLE has been there for over 2 centuries trapped by one of his own spells! Tom releases him from this spell and the two embark on some of the weirdest, whimsical adventures ever committed to paper! The series ran as a comic strip until 18th May 1974 , but apart from a few reprints featured all-new adventures in various Annuals right up to 1979! Created by GEORGE BEAL , scripting duties for the majority of the series were shared between FRANK S.PEPPER and KEN MENNELL with artwork by GEOFF CAMPION and REG BUNN. From 7th FEB 1970 the strip was renamed THE SPELLBINDER.

VALIANT BOOK OF MAGIC & MYSTERY 1976

You can peruse the Contents page of the many SPELLBINDER tales that appeared in this book. But for the inclusion of a few non-related strips , this would have been the SPELLBINDER BOOK! I plan to feature these strips here in the near future, time permitting!
